i fell off the edge of the world
tumbled through time, through
the air you left behind. you flew
away inside of me. I stayed
and cried, my insides
empty runways,
clouds melting into my head
asking why, why I was stilled,
holding the air you left behind
Oh that last line defines ‘loneliness and loss’ to me…very power.
thank you!

Powerful lines, indeed–I must agree that last one sums it up so piercingly.

Powerful words. Very poignant. Well done.
Thank you very much.
Brilliant mood piece, great to read and fantastic picture to go with it. I might only change stilled, to still and omit the comma.
Jim

Oh yes, I recognize that feeling, I too ‘fell off the edge of the world’ and am still falling, falling. . .
I’m glad it’s not just me 😉
And I thought for many years it was just me. Your words pressed right into my soul memory and I didn’t feel quite so alone anymore. I hope you have fallen into happiness and peace as I have.
