A Sincere Apology and Genuine Appreciation

I want all of you who stop by my blog, regularly or just one time, to know how much I appreciate your sharing with me. Those who come by here regularly know that this is more than mere writing practice and sharing photos for me. I keep this blog as a way to let out and to share the storms and the sunny days, the struggles and the triumphs of my personal journey. I am indebted to all of you for taking the time to share in the journey, and those of you who have reached out to me in kindness and care, please know how much that has meant, and means to me. I don’t say it enough, but I always, always recognize it. Thank you.

I have been getting behind on responding to comments, and I am sorry. This is been a busy (and difficult) time for me, and I am doing my best to keep my head above water. I promise to get caught up as soon as I am able.

Along that same line, some very generous bloggers have nominated me for quite a few awards, and I feel just terrible that I have not been more prompt and thorough in my response. First of all, THANK YOU. It means a great deal to me to be nominated for any award, any time. I still can’t believe anyone is interested in reading what I have to write and looking at my photos! Please know that I do genuinely appreciate every one of the nominations.

Some of the awards I have been nominated for (some of which I have received nominations for before, if they sound familiar) are the Leibster Award. the Very Inspiring Blogger Award (thank you!), the Super Sweet Blogger Award (:D), and the Blog of the Year (Wow! Thank you!!!). All of these have special requirements which I am sorry to say I just do not have time to do right now with so much piled up waiting for me to take care of. But I did want to say a huge thank you and express my appreciation.

I realize that I have not been back to my “About” page in quite awhile, and I found all sorts of unanswered posts there. I’m sorry! Thank you, nominators! I do appreciate the recognition you have given me, and I apologize for my lapse in responding. All of these awards require some sort of providing information about yourself and then recommending other blogs, so I will condense into one post.

Some facts about me:

1. I love blue – every shade of blue. I love the way it looks, the way it smells, tastes, feels, and especially the way it sounds. I imagine myself to be blue.

2. Everyone I know, writers and poets, are drawn to the moon. I love the sun. You will find I write about the sun a lot.

3. I talk to animals. They speak back to me.

4. I don’t like too much noise. But I don’t like silence for too long.

5. I love horses and elephants.

6. One of my favorite things to do is watch the clouds.

7. I am an empath; I pick up the emotions of people around me.

8. I am an INFP (MBTI, for those who are familiar)

9. I love daisies, sunflowers, and all wildflowers (which I identify with)

10. It is difficult for me to write facts about myself!!!

Thank you! I am both humbled and appreciative. This is just a small effort to share my poems and photography, in the hopes that someone can relate to them, and something like this makes me feel that, in some way, I am connecting with other people. Thank you!

So, here we go. I am not so good at this, being an introvert, but I will try. 11 random facts about myself…let’s see….

1. I have a passion for photography and usually always have a camera with me.

2. I live near the ocean but would rather live in the mountains.

3. I dream of traveling the world.

4. I was a state champion horseback rider (jumping)

5. I love (American) football

6. My favorite color is blue.

7. I love roller coasters and go on as many as possible.

8. I can’t stand to be in large crowds

1.What keeps you awake at night?

I worry about things a lot – too much – usually things I have to control over. I am working on this.

2. Recommend a ghost story, suitable for a winter evening.

It’s not really a ghost story, but read The Long Walk by Stephen King. I promise you it will haunt you.

3. What has been your favourite moment of 2012?

Hiking down into the Grand Canyon this summer

4. What is your favourite quote and why?

“Spiteful words can hurt your feelings but silence breaks your heart.” (C.S. Lewis) I think this says it all in life.

5. What kind of doodler are you?

I doodle words.

6. Your favourite all-time comic character?

Woodstock (from Snoopy)

7. Something you wish you had learned earlier.

Things will happen in their own time, not when I want them to happen.

8. The question you always wanted to answer – but, dammit – nobody ever asked ?

I avoid answering questions, so I am happy when no one asks me anything!

9. What musical instrument ahve you tried to learn toplay (how successful have you been – so far)?

I used to play clarinet. I was not good at it. I always wished I could play the guitar.

10. At what time of day are you most active?

definitely night time….I wish I could stay up all night and sleep all day

11. Which two fictional characters would invite to dinner (where would you go?)

I would take Holden Caulfield and Juliet (from Romeo and Juliet). We would just sit at Starbucks and talk. I have questions I’d like to ask both of them!
